The research should continue. The benefits to humanity will be enormous. Preventing or curing genetic defects, increasing lifespan, improving intelligence, editing out mental illness... the possibilities are endless. Concerns about ethics in the use of stem cells and human genome manipulation are misplaced and hypocritical. Is it not unethical to condemn future generations to death and suffering because we're too cowardly to conduct research that could cure horrible diseases like Parkinson's, MS, and many others?
